Traylor/Reitzel Wedding

My middle brother Luke got married this past weekend. Him and his bride, Bethany were married on Friday in Winter Park, FL. The location was the Farmers Market which I thought was a bit funny cause around here it’s tents pitched and veggies/fruit stands everywhere. Down there, it was really nice and reminded me of where the Hippodrome of Gainesville is located (minus the bums).

I tell you, it was very hard not to “nasty” cry at his wedding. I have always been close to Luke so seeing him Friday all dressed up and about to get married I just about lost it. Luke felt the same way on my wedding day so I think he sympathized with me on what I was going through. I’ve got a lump in my throat just typing this. Moving on, Bethany’s brother married them and made the ceremony so intimate. For example after Luke said he took Bethany to be his wife and so forth, he asked my parents if they would take Bethany as their daughter and to love her, etc. Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful to say the least.

Here are a few pictures that we had and if you want to see what their photographer did here is his link.

Keys Vacation

Matthew is the best man for his brother Mark who’s getting married Sept. 25th. Being a best man you plan a bachelor party. Matthew decided on the Keys because Mark LOVES to fish or lobster (they are in season) and Jimbo (Mark’s BFF) has the boat to get them around. The only way to rent a house in the Keys is for a week so we decided to have all the guys go down there and stay Saturday-Tuesday. We ended up getting this place in Marathon.

On Tuesday afternoon Torie (Jimbo’s wife) and I flew down to Key West. It ended up being us 4 along with 2 other guys that decided to stay the rest of the week. We all had a great time in Key West. Torie or I have ever been that far down so it was fun walking around and seeing the sights.

The next day we went out to 7mile bridge and caught 22 lobsters. Torie and I were snorkeling but didn’t get any lobsters. Matt was swimming around the bridge when he almost ran into a 6ft nurse shark. Needless to say he the two were scared of each other so they went separate ways. He also had a sting ray swim underneath him. Me, I only saw small schools of small fish.

The rest of the vacation was truly relaxing. Eat, swim, read a book, go out on the boat, and relax. We decided on Thursday evening that we would go night fishing. We didn’t have much luck, but did get to see an amazing sunset.

We had to be out of the house by Saturday, but decided we would leave early Friday morning since Torie and I had to get back to leave Saturday morning for Christina’s (my future sis-in-law) bachelorette party in Jacksonville. We left around 10am and decided that we would take the scenic route home and also save $70. in tolls…alligator ally here we come.

We were having a great time until we ran out of gas towards the end of ally. We siphoned gas out of a hookah (a device that pumps oxygen so you can dive down 60feet) and got a whole 1 gallon of gas. Now we are back on the road and can see the board that has a gas station on it in the distance. We get to going and next thing I know we are pulling back over and are now just coasting. We were just praying that we would make it, but ended up stopping right at the off ramp.

Matt and Jimbo had 2 options. They could cut up an expensive hose to get gas out of the boat or they could walk a mile to the station. They chose walk and right as they head off on foot, here comes super trooper flying up next to them. Matt hopped in the back and off they went. We kept watching for them to come back onto the interstate and when we did super trooper was flying up the on ramp and rather then go up to a turn spot he decided to hit the ditch at 60-70mph and crosses over 3 lanes of traffic and slams on his brakes directly behind the boat. I jumped out of the car and said I had to get Matt’s picture before he got out. Super trooper told Matt that he owns a 4x4 truck and he would NEVER do what he does in his cop car like jumping ditches and such. iphone pics 158

After getting gas we hit a few traffic jams before we finally got home around 9pm. It was a LONG ride home but it was a good thing we had wonderful company and could laugh about our mishaps.

Have a great weekend!!
