SURPRISE!! Beach Trip

This is a post I should have done back in June, but better late then never. We went to my brother Luke’s surprise 30th birthday party that was held at Daytona beach. We borrowed Mama and Daddy’s Tahoe (ours doesn’t have the 3rd row) and loaded up Matt, William, Stephanie, me, Michael, Willie, and Madelyn. I just wish I would have taken a picture of the babies all lined up in their car seats. ha

This was Willie and Madelyn’s first trip to the beach and they both thought the sand was pretty tasty. YUCK!! Stephanie has a picture of the two sitting together eating sand. Michael saw them eating the sand and thought he had to join in on all the fun.

So back to the surprise part, we had 3 tents set up right next to a volleyball net and hear comes Luke and Bethany walking over and he looked at all of us and said “what are you guys doing here?” He didn’t understand how we all got there and went to the same location that they were going to be at. lol  We had to explain that it was his surprise party, but he was still in shock!! After he adjusted to having all his friends and family there we ate, played volleyball, and played in the water.

We had such a great time and Michael really enjoyed chasing the birds. Nothing like running after your child that’s running through strangers chairs and on their blankets after a bird. ha

I was looking through my pictures and can’t believe I don’t have one family picture. I think Stephanie has a picture on her camera. So I guess this one will have to do.

Happy Anniversary!!

35ann19

My parents celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on August 16, 2010. It’s amazing to me to see them both still “in love”. They have a courting swing under one of their trees and above the swing  Mama put a sign “Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be”. I think it’s so sweet and I can remember growing up Mama and Daddy would go out to the swing to sit and talk about their day.

Another sweet thing that Mama and Daddy do is always go away for their anniversary. They hardly ever did anything without us except for that one time a year. When Matthew and I got married I told him I wanted to carry on that tradition and it has been so much fun. Every year we go somewhere different. We each take turns in picking the place. This year we are going to the Florida vs Alabama game. Matt’s choice of course, but I’m really excited.

Now the real reason I’m posting about my parents anniversary is because as a gift from Daddy to Mama he had Matt scan and put together a video of their wedding and honeymoon to the song that was sang at their wedding. I love these pictures and with Mama’s permission I thought I would share them.

This picture of Papa and Mama is one of my favorites!! Makes me think about all the feelings I had for my Daddy on my wedding day.

Bathing Beauties

When 7pm rolls around you can tell that Madelyn is READY for her bath. She gets really fussy and doesn’t understand “Wait just a few minutes longer”.  I came across these pictures and thought I would share.

We don’t use the duck anymore thanks to Michael who thought it would be fun to jump in and out and rough house with the poor duck… needless to say he has a hole.

Seems like we are always having bath parties too. Here’s Madelyn with her cousin Willie.

And then we had the ultimate party of Michael, Willie, Madelyn and Cori.

We’ve been BUSY around here!

 IMG_5699

Little Miss Madelyn is 8 months old now. She is such a joy and so much fun to watch her study Michael and tries to keep up with him. She started crawling a few weeks ago. I think she got motivated when she saw that her friend Cori was crawling. Madelyn will start out her crawl and then she gets into a man push-up position as if she’s just going to push herself up to stand. Ha

Another new thing she is doing is pulling up and standing while holding on to something. She does this in her crib when she wakes up from her naps.  I think it’s time to lower her mattress. Yes my child takes naps with just her diaper on. It gets so hot in our house during the day so this is the only way I can get her to take a good nap. 8-)

Madelyn is also waving hi and bye. She has to be coached to work herself up to waving to someone, but when she does she doesn’t want to stop. As for teeth, no teeth what so ever. I’m sure one will be popping out soon because she is drooling like crazy and gets fussy until I put Orajel on her gums. Michael had several teeth by the time he was 8 months, but I guess every child is different.

I’ve got to brag on Michael as well. He’s been learning his ABC’s and when I put the blocks out to spell his name he can spell it out and recognize that it’s his name. I’m trying to teach him how to spell Madelyn’s name too. Thank you Willie for getting him those blocks for Christmas. I’ll be sure he learns how to spell your name next “QUACKERS”. ha

Here’s the newest entertainment around here. Michael LOVES dump trucks and what better thing to do then to push it with Madelyn sitting in it.  It keeps both of them happy. Although when it’s time for Madelyn to get out he thinks he should “dump” her out. haha  Luckily she’s a tough girl and doesn’t mind that much.

Madelyn is already getting ready for Gator football season. Her Aunt Stephanie W. made her a sweet Gator pillowcase dress and flower to match. She also taught me how to make a dress. Who would have thought I could sew!!

That was the first time she sat in the grass without a blanket so she didn’t know what to think.

The dress I finished last night. I made it long enough that she should be able to wear it next summer.

Have a great day!!
